Draymond Green fires back at Charles Barkley on ‘Inside the NBA’
Draymond Green and Charles Barkley traded sharp words on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” on Wednesday, with Barkley declaring the Golden State Warriors’ era finished and Green replying with a jab at Barkley’s time in Houston.
“It’s over for the Warriors. No disrespect. It ends for every old team,” Barkley said on the show, adding that while the Warriors had “one of the greatest runs ever,” “sports … nobody wins when they’re 37, 38.”
Green responded directly, saying, “Yeah, I mean, I think the goal is just to not look like you in the Houston Rockets uniform,” a reference to Barkley’s later career in Houston. Green also acknowledged the team’s transition, saying, “I think understanding what is success at this point is key for us. Knowing and understanding that it may not be realistic to win a championship, but can we continue to build to that so that once we leave this organization, it’s still in a great space?”
The exchange came after a season in which the Warriors finished 10th in the Western Conference and were eliminated in the play-in tournament, according to NBA standings.
The remarks aired Wednesday on TNT’s “Inside the NBA.”
