Education Department proposes ending ABA oversight of law school accreditation, report says
The Education Department has suggested ending the American Bar Association’s role in accrediting law schools, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The ABA has accredited nearly 200 law schools over the last 70 years, the report said.
The Wall Street Journal said the department made the suggestion as part of a review of the accreditation process, and that the move could end the ABA’s long-standing authority over law school accreditation.
The developments were reported by the Wall Street Journal.
