FIFA said it has abandoned a plan to create a commercial venture and sell minority stakes in the World Cup, days after unveiling the proposal.
The plan drew sharp condemnation and prompted boycotts from European nations, FIFA said.
FIFA described the proposal as a move to create a commercial vehicle and offer minority investments, but the governing body reversed course amid the criticism, FIFA said.
