HHS advisory warns children’s screen time can harm sleep, mental health
The Department of Health and Human Services released an advisory Wednesday warning that children’s screen time can harm sleep and mental health, HHS said.
The document is titled “Surgeon General’s Warning on the Harms of Screen Use.” The advisory says, “harmful screen use among children and adolescents has become a public health concern; growing up surrounded by screens…”
The advisory cites impacts on sleep and mental health, according to HHS.
HHS released the advisory to highlight those concerns, the department said.
