The U.S. House recessed until after the midterm elections, leaving congressional activity paused and President Trump facing what CBS News calls a pivotal week in foreign policy.

CBS News’ Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan said this on Sept. 20, 2026, when previewing the week’s episode.

The program’s Sept. 20 episode lists guests including Reps. Ro Khanna and Maria Elvira Salazar and Sen. Bill Cassidy, CBS News said.
