Justice Department document says U.S. barred from probing Trump tax issues under settlement
A Justice Department document posted on the department’s website says the United States is “forever barred and precluded” from examining or prosecuting President Trump, his sons and the Trump Organization’s current tax issues as part of a settlement agreement.
The language appears in the settlement agreement, the document says.
The document was posted to the Justice Department website, which provided the description of the scope of the bar, according to the document.
