Phoenix bank employees pull food vendor and cart inside during severe storm

Employees at a PNC Bank branch in Phoenix pulled a longtime neighborhood food vendor and his cart inside during a severe late-October storm, Fox News Digital reported, citing video and reporting from FOX 10 Phoenix.

Video posted from inside the bank shows an employee helping the vendor, identified by FOX 10 Phoenix as Hilario Cruz Cruz, pull his food cart inside as wind and hail battered the area. The video has drawn more than 1 million views on TikTok and hundreds of thousands of likes, Fox News Digital said.

In an interview with FOX 10 Phoenix through a translator, Cruz Cruz said, “With one hand, I held the door against the strong wind blowing it, and with my other hand I pulled the cart inside. The young man was doing the same on his side.”

Cruz Cruz told FOX 10 Phoenix the bank employees had been longtime customers who bought food from his cart for years and that the manager insisted, “I know it will,” when staff decided to bring the cart inside despite concerns about fit.

FOX 10 Phoenix reported Cruz Cruz was drenched after the incident and had to navigate fallen trees and branches on his way home. The station said he was back selling elotes and fresh fruit along Peoria Avenue about a week after the storm and that business increased after the video went viral.

Fox News Digital has reached out to PNC Bank for additional information, the Fox News report said.
