Proposal would let U.S. Postal Service mail handguns
A proposal filed last month by the Trump administration would allow the U.S. Postal Service to mail concealable handguns, the filing says.
If approved, the proposed rule would let Americans send concealable firearms such as pistols and revolvers to recipients anywhere in the country, according to the filing.
The proposal also would extend protections similar to those currently in place for mailing long-barreled rifles and shotguns, the filing says.
The change would take effect only if the proposal is approved, the filing says.
