Tennessee beats Alabama 26-10 at Neyland; Alabama suffers first back-to-back regular-season losses since 2007

Tennessee defeated Alabama 26-10 at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, handing Alabama its second straight regular-season loss and its first back-to-back regular-season losses since 2007.

Fox News reported the result; The Associated Press contributed to the report.

Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and the Volunteers recorded their third straight win, according to Fox News.

Alabama totaled 201 yards of offense, including 54 rushing, and committed four turnovers. Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell threw for 147 yards and scored Alabama’s only touchdown on a 19-yard run. Russell also threw two interceptions and Alabama lost two fumbles.

The teams combined for five turnovers and were 3 of 17 on third-down conversions. Tennessee led 12-10 at halftime after both offenses struggled.

Fox News noted Alabama entered the game without leading receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams, who recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a meniscus injury.

The report also said the third Saturday in October featured another upset: unranked Auburn capitalized on a late fumble by Georgia and kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired to beat the top-ranked Bulldogs. The story added Oklahoma had knocked off then-No. 1 Texas in Week 6.
