Two-time ‘Jeopardy!’ champion arrested in Wake County on child porn charges
Joey DeSena, 44, was arrested in Wake County, North Carolina, and charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor after authorities allegedly found sexually explicit images and videos involving children, according to an arrest warrant obtained by Fox News Digital.
Fox News Digital reported that DeSena was denied bond and was booked into the Wake County Jail, and that a judge said he allegedly possessed child pornography while on probation for a separate crime.
The outlet reported DeSena was previously arrested in December 2025 on allegations he recorded a woman in a bedroom and bathroom. He pleaded guilty to two counts of felony secret peeping on July 27, 2026, and was sentenced to 60 months of probation, Fox News Digital said. A judge also ordered 100 hours of community service and required completion of a mental health assessment or evaluation.
Fox News Digital reported that DeSena won two episodes of the television game show Jeopardy! in November 2024, earning just over $44,000, and that he competed in the show’s Champions Wildcard tournament in January 2025, when he was eliminated in the semifinals.
His next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16, 2026, the report said.
