Vietnam War veterans seek emergency order to halt Trump arch groundbreaking

Three Vietnam War veterans and an architectural historian asked a court for an emergency order to stop the administration from moving forward with plans to break ground on President Donald Trump’s proposed triumphal arch near Washington, D.C., according to court filings.

The plaintiffs are veterans Michael Lemmon, Shaun Byrnes and Jon Gundersen, along with architectural historian Calder Loth, the filings say.

The group filed a request for a temporary restraining order seeking to bar the administration from pursuing what the filings described as imminent plans to begin construction in the Washington, D.C., area, according to the court documents.

The filings did not provide additional details about the timeline for a hearing or other next steps. Further details were not immediately available, the filings show.
