Lady Panthers on quest for 3-peat as Coach Bates could secure 4th Gold Ball

The Pine Grove Lady Panthers find themselves in familiar territory tonight, opening the playoffs with a home game to start their quest to a state title.

If all goes as planned, Coach Katie Bates and crew will lift their third straight Gold Ball at the Big House in Jackson and secure Bates 4th Overall title including one at Ripley before returning to her Alma Mater.

If the Lady Panthers are to raise that elusive Gold Ball, they will have to start with a victory tonight over the Myrtle Lady Hawks. Tip-off for that game is 7 pm tonight Monday, February 18th.

“Winning this time of year is hard. We have to take every game seriously,” Coach Bates said about her teams playoff preparations.

Winning consistently is among the hardest thing in sports. Here’s to the ladies at Pine Grove continuing that hard fought tradition.
