ATF is assisting local law enforcement in investigating fire at American Furniture

The department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has sent their National Response team to help investigate the recent fire at American furniture in Pontotoc.

according to the ATF:

ATF’s National Response Team (NRT) has deployed to assist local law enforcement officers who are responding to the scene of a fire at American Furniture in Pontotoc, Miss. The property damage is estimated at $20 million.

Federal, state and local investigators can request an NRT activation to investigate significant fire, arson and explosion incidents. NRT’s primary mission is to concentrate ATF explosives and fire investigative resources and expertise on large-scale fire and explosion incidents, or on more complex investigations due to the size, scope or number of victims as a result of the incident.
