A fatal hit and run was reported on Wednesday night in Ripley, according to local authorities. Multiple police were involved at the scene, including the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
An Ashland male was killed and another passenger was injured. The driver of the vehicle left the scene according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
According to authorities, an SUV was traveling west on Highway 4 outside of Ripley when it ran off the road and led to the fatal accident.
The passenger killed was identified as 26-year-old Stephen Daniel of Ashland.
A fourth passenger in the vehicle was not hurt.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
