Infamous murder case with Tippah County ties sees guilty plea

A murder case with Tippah County ties has seen a partial resolution as one of the parties involved pled guilty on Thursday.

Sherra Wright pled guilty to facilitation to first-degree murder in the 2010 murder of her ex-husband, former NBA player Lorenzen Wright.

Sherra was sentenced to 30 years after pleading guilty in Shelby County.

The gun used in the murder was found in a lake near Walnut in Tippah County. Wright and co-defendant Billy Turner were charged with first-degree murder and had been scheduled to go to trial Sept. 16.
