Pine Grove’s Carson Rowland signs to play college baseball and basketball

Pine Groves Carson Rowland signed to play both college baseball and basketball on Wednesday.

The multi-sport standout is continuing his athletic career at Northeast Mississippi Community College where he will play both baseball and basketball for the Tigers.

“I would like to thank God, first. My family for always supporting me, my coaches and teammates for supporting me,” Rowland said at an emotional signing held at the Pine Grove gym.

Rowland is one of the most decorated athletes in Tippah County and perhaps Mississippi athletic history.

Rowland was a multiple time selection to the All-State Boys basketball team, including being the 2A player of the year this year. He was selected district and TIppah County MVP multiple times in basketball. The Panthers won the 2A basketball championship in 2022. Rowland went over 2000 career points in the championship game.

In baseball, Rowland was selected all county, all district and All-State multiple times.

Rowland had his teammates, coaches, family and friends join in his signing ceremony.
