Ripley Holiday Open House Set for Sunday, Nov. 1
The Ripley Holiday Open House returns Sunday, Nov. 1, giving shoppers an afternoon to get a head start on Christmas lists in downtown Ripley and at businesses around town. Ripley Main Street announced the date Thursday and said the event runs from noon to 4 p.m.
The Main Street organization is billing the afternoon as a chance to shop local, find unique gifts, grab something to eat and explore the town. It is also recruiting vendors for pop-up shops at The Cut-Off.

Why Shopping Local Matters in Ripley
The open house has become a familiar kickoff to the holiday season on the Ripley square. Last year’s open house was also held on the first Sunday in November, and the event is built around steering early holiday spending to locally owned shops.
Ripley Main Street works to renovate, revitalize and restore the historic downtown district. Its office is at 111 E. Spring St. The group has had a busy fall, including the Spirit of Ripley festival and recognition for local musician Garry Burnside.
Holding the open house on a Sunday afternoon also gives families a chance to come to town after church and make a day of it.
More details, including a list of participating businesses, may be posted on the Ripley Main Street Facebook page as the date gets closer.
