Ripley Holiday Open House Pop-Ups Move to Golden Bee

The Ripley Holiday Open House is still on for this afternoon, Sunday, Nov. 1, but one part of it has moved indoors. Ripley Main Street announced today that, because of the wet weather, the holiday pop-up shops will set up inside the Golden Bee instead of outdoors. Everything else stays on schedule, with shopping from noon to 4 p.m. in downtown Ripley and around town.

Ripley Holiday Open House: What Changed

When Ripley Main Street first announced the event, it said the pop-up vendors would be at The Cut-Off. With rain moving through Tippah County this weekend, the organization posted an update Sunday morning moving those pop-ups under a roof at the Golden Bee.

Ripley Main Street said nothing else about the event has changed. Shoppers can visit the pop-ups at the Golden Bee and then make their rounds to the participating stores.

Times and Details

  • When: Sunday, Nov. 1, from 12 to 4 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Ripley and businesses around town
  • Pop-up shops: Moved indoors to the Golden Bee because of the weather
  • Participating businesses: 27, according to Ripley Main Street

Sunday is also the first day back on standard time after clocks fell back overnight, so shoppers who haven’t changed their clocks should check the time before heading out.

Shop Local to Start the Holiday Season

The open house gives shoppers an early start on the holiday season. In its earlier announcement, the organization encouraged residents to “shop local and support Ripley,” noting that shoppers could eat, explore and find unique gifts at local stores.

The Ripley Main Street Association works to renovate, revitalize and restore the historic downtown district. Its events bring people to the shops and restaurants around the courthouse square throughout the year. The open house comes just two days after the association’s Spirit of Ripley festival on Oct. 30.

Weather Tips for Shoppers

Forecasts called for rain and possible storms across Tippah County on Sunday. Shoppers should bring an umbrella, allow extra time on wet roads, and watch for standing water when parking downtown. Check local weather updates before heading out, especially if storms develop during the afternoon.
