Temps in the teens, snow/ice possibility in 10 day forecast

Temperatures in the teens, snow and freezing rain is in the forecast for the next 10 days according to multiple weather sources.

According to Firsthand Weather, this is due in part to the polar vortex and should be moving into our area towards the later part of this week.

From Firsthand:

The transition to a much colder pattern should begin soon. Without getting into too much detail about how this map product is generated, the blue (red) shaded region indicates where temperatures should be below (above) average over the day 9-11 period. This type of pattern should continue beyond this period.

Some models have temps as low as 14 degrees for next weekend, with forecast showing freezing rain and snow for the following week.
