Ripley is taking on Choctaw County for their homecoming and you can watch all of the action LIVE on RCTV 19 and the Mississippi Sports Group Youtube.
Both teams enter the contest 2-0 and the highest ranked player to ever play at Ripley is coming to town.
In Week 1, the Ripley Tigers faced the speed of Class 2A state runner-up, Charleston. In Week 2, they took on a gritty/solid Class 3A Kossuth Aggies team. The Tigers passed both tests and are sitting at 2-0.
Tonight they face a new challenge in containing Choctaw County 5-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham. The 6-3, 185-pound junior is the most highly recruited high school football player to step foot inside Tigers’ Stadium. Along with leading the Chargers with 9 catches for 251 yards and four scores on the season, he currently holds 22 Division I offers…
And not just any offers. Nine of the offering schools are currently in the Top 25, including No. 1 Georgia, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 Florida State, No. 6 USC, No. 7 Penn State, No. 13 Oregon, No. 14 LSU, No. 20 Ole Miss, and No. 23 TAMU.
Cunningham is uncommitted and plans to visit Starkville on Saturday for an official visit to watch Mississippi State host Arizona at Davis Wade Stadium.
But before he gets to Stark Vegas tomorrow, he’ll have to deal with a stingy Ripley Tigers’ defense with a seasoned secondary in SAFETY Michael Turner and corners CJ Martin and Jaki Holmes. Three absolute ballhawks who are looking forward to the challenge.
