The parents of Nolan Wells will hold a funeral for the 18-year-old on Monday in Mississippi, according to family members.
Wells was last seen during a Fourth of July celebration with friends. He did not return home, prompting a search that ended with his body being discovered on Horn Island.
Civil rights leaders and community members are expected to attend the funeral, calling for justice in the case. Authorities have not released additional details about Wells’ death.
