Widespread power outage reported in Tippah County

A widespread power outage has been reported in Tippah County, affecting residential and commercial customers.

The outage is being reported to us as far south as near to Blue Mountain and as far north as Tiplersville.

Some residents have reported hearing a large explosion which could be the result of a large transformer or other component exploding.
