The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said some of its officers served as “guardians of the flame” during the Special Olympics Mississippi torch run and thanked organizers for including them.

The Exchange Club of Jackson named Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Chad Turner its 2025 Trooper of the Year, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said. The department praised his dedication and also congratulated other nominees.
