Mississippi community colleges propose new program to boost workforce

Mississippi’s community colleges are launching the Jobs Promise Performance Program to strengthen the state’s workforce. The initiative aims to prepare approximately 5,500 workers each year for high-demand careers.

The program would link new state investment directly to workforce outcomes, officials said. The Mississippi Community College System hopes the effort will improve job prospects for graduates and support economic development in communities.

MACC Chair and Northeast President Dr. Ricky G. Ford emphasized the program’s goals. “Mississippi’s Jobs Promise Performance Program shows our commitment to give our students the tools they need for the current workforce,” he said. “By aligning education with workforce demands, we are helping improve job prospects for our graduates and facilitate economic development in our communities.”

Details about the program can be found at this link.
