Blue Mountain Christian University completes 357 athlete physicals in 90 minutes, athletic director says

Blue Mountain Christian University completed 357 athletic physicals in about 90 minutes, Athletic Director Curt Fowler said, calling the event one of the program’s most successful.

“It was amazing,” Fowler said. “They helped us do 357 physicals in an hour and a half which included doing all the weight, height and blood pressure measurements.” The athletic department said nursing students assisted with the exams for the first time, helping to streamline the process and provide hands-on experience.

The athletic department credited numerous community partners for the event and said their contributions helped make the physicals free for student-athletes and their families. The department thanked Specialty Orthopedics Group, Baptist Medical Group, Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Athletico and the Blue Mountain Christian University Nursing Program.

The department also gave special recognition to athletic training staff members Felicia Saulter and Kaitlin Horne for planning and coordinating the event, the athletic department said.
