Blue Mountain Christian University recognizes IT leader David Greer

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Aug. 8, 2026 — Blue Mountain Christian University said it recognized David W. Greer, the university9s cybersecurity and network administrator, for his leadership and service in supporting student success.

The university said Greer, who joined Blue Mountain Christian University in 2016, oversees the campus network and data infrastructure that supports more than 800 faculty, staff and students. The university said he has more than 20 years of experience in information technology and has worked in the private and public sectors.

According to the university, Greer has led campuswide cybersecurity initiatives, security awareness training, major technology upgrades and network expansion projects. “Technology plays a central role in modern education, and David’s leadership ensures that our students, faculty, and staff can focus on teaching and learning without interruption,” University President Barbara McMillin said in a statement.

The university said Greer previously held leadership and engineering roles in education, manufacturing, government contracting and technology consulting, where he designed and secured complex network environments. The release said his work supports both online and in-person learning platforms.

Greer said his commitment to the work is rooted in his Christian faith. “Christian higher education plays a vital role in preparing students for lives of service, leadership, and purpose,” he said. The university said his efforts help protect institutional data and equip students with the resources they need to pursue their educational goals.
