A dense fog advisory is in effect for parts of west Tennessee and north Mississippi until 9 a.m. today, the advisory said.
The advisory said visibilities were dropping to a quarter mile or less in affected areas.
Commuters were urged to allow extra travel time, slow down, use low-beam headlights and leave plenty of braking distance between vehicles, the advisory said.
