Temperatures are expected to drop to near-normal levels through the middle of the week, according to weather forecasts.
Afternoon highs will remain in the 90s through Wednesday, with heat index values ranging from 90 to 100 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
However, temperatures are forecast to rise again toward the end of the week, with triple-digit heat indices expected to return, signaling hotter weather for the area.
