Trump administration plans 528-bed holding center near Louisiana deportation hub
The Trump administration plans to open a 528-bed holding center for migrant families and unaccompanied children awaiting removal from the U.S., the administration said.
The facility would house both families and unaccompanied children, the administration said, and would be located adjacent to a Louisiana airfield.
The administration said the airfield has become the nation’s largest hub for deportation flights and that the facility’s proximity could speed up removals of families and children awaiting deportation.
