Five winning entries from the Star-Spangled Sign Contest will appear on Mississippi digital highway signs starting today and will run through the weekend, the contest’s organizers said.
Voters selected the five messages, which organizers said blend patriotic themes, wordplay and reminders about road safety.
One winning message made a historical nod while urging driver courtesy. It read, “Using your blinker should NOT be a revolutionary concept, people,” the organizers said.
Organizers said the signs are part of America250 Mississippi activities marking the nation’s 250th anniversary and encouraged drivers to watch for the displays on state highways through the weekend.
