Tupelo man charged with burglary after being found in garage
A Tupelo man was charged with burglary after police found him inside a homeowner’s detached garage on June 27, authorities said.
Officers responded to the Robins Street area that day for a burglary investigation and learned an unknown man had been found inside a detached enclosed garage without the homeowner’s permission, police said.
Officers developed a suspect description and located a man a short time later, arresting him on unrelated misdemeanor charges, police said. After further investigation, authorities charged Matthew Calise, a 28-year-old Tupelo resident, with burglary of a building.
On June 29, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Calise’s bond at $10,000, court records show. Police said the charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury.
