More than 100 players took part in a golf tournament hosted by First Responders of MS to benefit Trooper Landon Murphy, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said.
The department said Murphy has been battling an illness and that it was proud to stand beside him and his family during the time.
In an official post, the department thanked First Responders of MS for organizing the event and said the turnout demonstrated the strength of the first responder community.
The post did not provide details about Murphy’s condition or the amount raised.
