Heat advisory issued for parts of Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi
The National Weather Service in Memphis warned that a Heat Advisory will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Monday as rising humidity pushes heat index values back to dangerous levels.
The advisory covers east Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel, northwest Mississippi and portions of West Tennessee, the agency said.
The National Weather Service in Memphis said the combination of high humidity and temperature will increase the heat index, contributing to potentially hazardous conditions.
The agency urged residents in the affected areas to remain aware of conditions and follow any local guidance, the National Weather Service in Memphis said.
