DEARMAN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS, DAY-FOR-DAY SENTENCE, FOR FONDLING
Joey Dale Dearman, 51, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of fondling a minor. The charges stem from an investigation by the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office, according to court records.
Judge John R. White of Lee County Circuit Court accepted the pleas during a hearing Monday. Dearman will serve the sentence day for day due to the severity of the offenses, the judge ordered.
The investigation was led by Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Torie Jumper. Assistant District Attorneys Joel Baldwin and Kyle Robbins prosecuted the case on behalf of the state, said District Attorney Jason D. Herring of the First Circuit Court District.
