Marginal severe weather risk persists across Mid-South Monday
A marginal risk for severe weather (level 1 of 5) continues across much of the Mid-South on Monday, meteorologists said.
The greatest threat for severe thunderstorms is expected during the afternoon and evening hours, with damaging wind as the primary concern and large hail and heavy rainfall as secondary hazards, forecasters said.
Meteorologists said storms are most likely to develop upstream in the afternoon over Arkansas or Missouri and then dive southeast into the region.
There is also potential for storms to move into the area early Monday, but confidence in early-day development is very low, meteorologists said.
