MDOT, FHWA to hold public meeting on U.S. 80 improvements in Brandon
The Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration will host an open forum on proposed improvements to U.S. 80 on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brandon City Hall, 1000 Municipal Drive, the agencies said.
Officials said the meeting will cover proposed work along U.S. 80 from the Downtown I-20 interchange to College Street in Brandon, Mississippi.
The open forum will allow attendees to view conceptual designs, ask questions and provide feedback, MDOT said. Attendees may come and go during the session. Project meeting information and materials are available online at https://mdot.ms.gov/portal/environmental.
MDOT and the FHWA said no formal presentations will be made by individuals or groups, but citizens are encouraged to make written or taped comments at the event; those comments will become part of the hearing’s permanent record. For those not in attendance, comment forms will be accepted until 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the agencies said.
