MDOT urges hurricane preparedness, highlights Katrina recovery in documentary
The Mississippi Department of Transportation urged residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast to have a preparedness plan on the 21st anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the agency said.
MDOT said last year, on the 20th anniversary, it released a documentary chronicling the restoration of infrastructure after the storm. The film, “MDOT Remembers Hurricane Katrina: 20 Years Later,” features first‑hand accounts from MDOT engineers and state leaders involved in preparation, response and rebuilding, the agency said.
MDOT said the full documentary is available on the agency’s YouTube channel and that additional information is linked on its website.
The agency said the storm continues to shape life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast more than two decades later.
