MDOT urges residents to plan for 2026 hurricane season, offers free resources

MDOT said it is offering free hurricane-preparedness resources at GoMDOT.com/Hurricanes and urged residents to make plans before the 2026 hurricane season.

The agency recommended that residents know their evacuation routes, assemble an emergency kit and identify the “who, what, when and where” of their plan before a storm, MDOT said.

MDOT said the resources are free and available at the website it listed. The agency said the materials are intended to help residents prepare in advance of a hurricane threat.

MDOT advised that anyone who cannot describe specifics of an evacuation route or emergency kit should consider developing a plan now, the agency said.
