Mississippi agency: One week left to apply for winter storm assistance

Residents in counties affected by the Jan. 23-27 winter storms have one week to apply for assistance, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said.

MEMA said applicants can apply online, by phone, through the FEMA app or by visiting a Disaster Service Center.

The agency listed centers in Alcorn, Lafayette, Panola, Leflore, Benton, Yazoo, Carroll, Coahoma, Montgomery, Tallahatchie, Pontotoc, Marshall and Tishomingo counties.

MEMA urged eligible residents to apply within the one-week window, the agency said.
