Mississippi auditor says report found millions spent on DEI activities

State Auditor Shad White released a MOGE report last year that the auditor’s office says documents alleged government waste from 2018-2025.

The report, the office said, identified millions of dollars directed to diversity, equity and inclusion offices. The report says those offices funded activities it described as including equity-based yoga for preschoolers and flagged taxpayer funding for college degree programs it characterized as teaching transgender or gender-related ideology.

The auditor’s office said the full report is available at osa.ms.gov. The office advised users to click on “Audit Reports” and search MOGE for more information.

White and his office said they are dedicated to ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent appropriately and not stolen. The office asked anyone with information about suspected misuse of taxpayer funds to call 1-800-321-1275 or use the fraud-reporting link on its website, the office said.
