Mississippi Department of Human Services closes offices in seven counties amid severe weather

The Mississippi Department of Human Services said it closed offices in seven counties today because of severe inclement weather.

MDHS listed the affected counties as George, Jackson, Pearl River, Stone, Hancock, Greene and Smith, the agency said.

The agency urged residents to stay safe and monitor local weather alerts, MDHS said. It directed the public to its weather updates and office closures page for the latest information: https://www.mdhs.ms.gov/weather-updates-office-closures/.

MDHS said clients can upload case documents by emailing their local county office or using the department’s online upload portal at https://www.mdhs.ms.gov/home/upload/.
