Mammatus Clouds Seen Over Office After Storms

Mammatus clouds appeared over an office after storms, office staff said.

Staff identified the formations as mammatus and said they form when air from a cloud layer descends into clear air below, cooling as it sinks.

They said the cooled, descending air accelerates downward and effectively drags clouds down, creating the pouch-like appearance.
