Mississippi Department of Public Safety joins Special Olympics torch run

Earlier this morning, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said some of its law enforcement officers served as “guardians of the flame” during the Special Olympics Mississippi torch run.

The agency posted the message on its official social media account and thanked organizers for letting officers be part of the event, the department said.

The department did not provide additional details about the run in the post, according to the social media message.
