Tupelo police escort Special Olympics ‘Flame of Hope’ during 2026 Torch Run

Tupelo Police Department said it assisted with the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run at Fairpark, helping escort the Special Olympics ‘Flame of Hope’ into the city.

The department said the flame made its way through Tupelo as part of a statewide event supporting Special Olympics athletes.

The department said the torch was carried into Tupelo by Jeff Bell of Olive Branch.

In a post, the department thanked everyone involved for making the event successful, the department said.
