The Mississippi Department of Transportation recognized Amber Godfrey as this week’s Worker Wednesday feature, MDOT said.
MDOT said Godfrey is an accountant in the agency’s Budget Division at the Jackson central office and has worked for the department for four years.
As part of a four-member team, MDOT said, she helps oversee budget transfers, overrides and funding availability to ensure projects have the resources they need to move forward.
MDOT said Godfrey previously worked in healthcare and that her meticulous oversight and caring approach help ensure taxpayer dollars are used effectively. The agency thanked her for her commitment to public service in a social media post that included the hashtags #WorkerWednesday, #PublicServant, #WorkingForYou and #MDOTcares.
