Mississippi DOT honors telecommunicators during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said it is recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week by highlighting members of its Traffic Management Center staff.
MDOT singled out Hattiesburg TMC operator John Mark Odom, who has worked for the agency for eight years, the department said.
MDOT said TMC operators work in shifts and monitor more than 29,000 highway lane miles across the state to help protect the traveling public around the clock.
The department said motorists can access traffic and travel information through the MDOT Traffic app or at MDOTtraffic.com. MDOT also thanked Odom and its TMC operators for their service, the department said.
