Mississippi DOT spotlights three staff photographers on World Photography Day
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said it highlighted three staff photographers for World Photography Day, praising their work documenting the state’s transportation projects.
MDOT identified the employees as Drew Hall, Roy Adkins and Billy Bob Sekul, calling them photographers, drone pilots and “jack-of-all-trades,” the agency said. The department said their images have captured bridges under construction, road improvements and crews at work.
In a post, MDOT shared sample images taken within the past year. The agency said Roy Adkins photographed MDOT workers hoisting the American flag along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Billy Bob Sekul shot the roundabout at Highway 7 and University Boulevard in Oxford, and Drew Hall photographed the travel landmark known as “The Stack” in Jackson, where I-20 and I-55 meet near U.S. 49.
MDOT said the photographers often work in heat, mud, dust, traffic and construction zones and during very early mornings. The agency thanked the three employees for their skill, creativity, commitment and determination, saying the images show the progress of Mississippi’s transportation system.
