Mississippi DOT spotlights materials engineer behind state roads
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said in a Worker Wednesday post that Daniel Ducote, P.E., a materials engineer at the agency’s northern District 2 Materials Testing Lab in Batesville, helps ensure the state’s roads are built to specification.
MDOT said Ducote is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and has been with the department for nine years.
The department said Ducote and his team routinely test soil, asphalt and concrete samples to determine whether they meet each project’s requirements.
MDOT said the precise testing helps set projects up for success and that it appreciates Ducote’s knowledge, expertise and attention to detail.
