The Mississippi Department of Transportation said both directions of State Route 427 between Rocky Rd. Ln. and State Route 16 in Leake County will be closed starting Monday, Aug. 24, for a bridge replacement project.
MDOT said the closure is expected to remain in place until approximately spring 2027 while the bridge is replaced.
During the closure, MDOT said traffic will be detoured from State Route 427 to State Route 15 in the city of Philadelphia, traveling east on State Route 16, then south on State Route 21 to State Route 488, which returns motorists to the south side of the closure on State Route 427.
