Mississippi swears in 54 graduates of 16-week law enforcement training

Fifty-four members of Cadet Class 70 were sworn in after a 16-week training program, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said.

Forty-two were assigned to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the department said. Six were assigned to Capitol Police, two to the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division and four to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.

The department thanked the graduates for their “commitment, sacrifice, and dedication,” its post said, and added that “Mississippi is proud of you.”

The post identified the cohort as “Class 70” and concluded, “Your time is now,” the department said.
